6 weeks passed like a wink, and I can’t believe that now I am sitting in my own room in Syracuse but those memories still resonate back and forth beautifully. I miss myself in the very first week, the only Vietnamese guy in the group and homesick. Missing food, daily routine, and comfort circles push me almost lonely. In the ways I communicate with people around, and the way I try to show my ego, they suppose I must be an extrovert but just sometimes, I am an introvert in all the other aspects.

But, nature in West Virginia soothes me, covers me, and embraces me. Every afternoon, I try to bring myself out to see the sun, the trees and take a stand/lie on the grass for enjoying. I take lots of pictures, bring to the room some leaves, twigs and get some smells.

In the after weeks, when my homesickness is loosen up, I also benefited much from all the professors here, they company with me in some sorts. Classtime, they are my teachers, my instructors, but after class, they are my friends, my family. They take care of each of us and thoughts with us. And one more thing, I really get close to all my colleagues, not only companying with me but even sharing every moment, talk, both joy and sorrow together. They come from all 26 countries, they might bring along different stories, and different desires but at last, they are my friends and my cherished connections.

It’s hard to say thank you to all of them or to give the appropriate words at the last minutes, so this video is a thanks, I assume.
